Hi!
My name is Heidi. I’m married to Joe. I love to bake, and he loves to eat baked goods. Pretty good set up, eh? Baking is fun. It’s a de-stresser for me sometimes. I like creating things that you can enjoy visually and also enjoy eating :D
I suppose I must confess that the name of the blog is not totally truthful.. I do bake things for Joe because I love him and I like making him happy. But guess what? I bake for me too :) That being said, I do tend to bake things that I know Joe will like, or will be more likely to consume a lot of. That way, I don’t end up eating a whole batch of cookies or brownies or whatever by myself. Now that may sound a little cruel to poor Joe, but before you judge me too harshly take into consideration that he still has the metabolism of a teenage boy and can’t gain weight if he tries. Yours truly, however, does not have such blessings..er, problems.
I’m originally from the cheese head state (Go Pack Go!), but Joe and I currently reside in Michigan. A lot of the recipes that I share are going to be mid-westernesque. Totally not a word, but I like it. You can also expect some Dutch infuences in my baking as that is my family’s heritage. (I hope you like almond!)
I also enjoy being a nurse. I may complain about hours and doctors and patients to Joe sometimes, but I really do love it. And let’s be honest,...nurses are a good bunch of people who can tell some great stories. So my baking blog may be infused with some nursey things. (Nothing gross or gruesome, I PROMISE)
One other passion (my #1 passion) that will most likely find it’s way in here is my faith. I’m a Christian and I love Jesus. I strive to love the things He loves, and He loves people. Another reason why I love being a nurse. It’s an easy, practical way to live out my faith by loving others.

A woman after my own heart!! Almond is my favorite...Too bad Junwen is not as much a fan, because I share your curse...er...blessing? I'll have to share a recipe I found online with you that is to die for!
ReplyDeleteI totally resonate with your comment about liking to bake yummy things that look nice...I.discovered that as an adult who doesn't have many creative outlets anymore (no more art class!), cooking has become that for me! It's also a way I love to give to others.
Looking forward to reading your blog! ❤
Thanks Christine! Yes, please do share recipes :)
